Irene Stanton’s show, entitled The World of Enchanted Circles, features her dramatic new paintings. Irene prepares her canvasses by applying fabric for texture, then continues with her oil paints. The resulting paintings are bold, colorful, geometric, large in scale, and rich in texture.

“Art fuels the imagination, the intuition, the integrity of the individual, and gives one the courage to appreciate that which is not familiar,” Stanton reflects about her work.

Irene was born in Europe and moved with her family to Australia and eventually to the United States. Although she claims her art education was more self-directed than academic, she studied various media with a number of teachers in New York, New Jersey and Maine. Oil on canvas is now her primary mode of expression.
